It's just not working.

I still need a place I can post all the glories that are little Grohs people, but man alive...I am failing to keep this updated like in my yester-years.  The Masters programs are a culprit now too and I HATE the new Blogger set up - nothing posts right..  But I want a place to still do this when I can and something beyond their yearly books.

Because there is little Michael and his mutterings... his first field trip to Apple Hill.

"Baby, yoh a fie-work." -Katy Perry and Michael Grohs

"Happy, happy, happy, sweet dreams." - stolen Elena bedtime saying

"I just love you, Mom." - daily reminders of his sweet, sweet nature.

And Elena...she has goals and is seven and writes and reads like a champ (accelerated reader is what is printed on her reading folders...yeah, I said it). She had her seventh birthday and Mommy took her to a Justin Bieber concert and stayed the night.

Seven and stunning.

Bieber fever (first concert) and birthday sleepover.

First soccer and first field trip to Apple Hill.

I've lost my Mojo.

Dear Elena and Michael:

Your mother has lost her blogging mojo.  I blame Facebook.  I blame the quick one-liners I post to the alluring social networking site and if I have my druthers, I will find a way to archive those posts here, because I still think of you every minute and post your silliness and beautiful faces there almost daily.  I blame Facebook.  And work.  And an impending MPA.  And your Father's MBA program.  And exercise.  I blame exercise.  And chardonnay.  And mindless TV.  And the Fifty Shades of Grey series.  And exercise.  And Facebook.

But I vow to do better, at least a little bit.  I've always loved this blogging and it seems I've replaced it for quippy little postings on a silly little Website.  I apologize.

You are both starting preschool and First Grade this week and I will post of these things.  I will talk about how Michael still loves to play with my hair and tells me, "You're the best Mommy in the 'ho' world."  I will talk about the resurrection of "Happy Happy Happy, Sweet Dreams" at the bedtime hour or how Michael stands at my face while I sleep sometimes.

I will talk of the Justin Bieber concert Elena and I get to attend together just days after her seventh (gulp) birthday, or that she authors books now.  Of the Little Mermaid show we got to see with Gramma recently or the trip to Chico we took to see Papa, or the trips to Disneyland and Bed we will take during the holidays.  I will talk about Daddy's birthday celebration and the commercial debut Elena had, and her Soil Born Farms Summer Camp....I vow to discuss all these things.  Just as soon as I catch up on the 20 or so blogs I've missed.  I'm off to do this now.

Love,
Mommy

Michael is three.

Our Michael is three years old and it still amazes me (cliche as it is) that at one point, we existed without him.  He is a light in our lives and though his birthday party (round one) was infiltrated by the flu and had to be postponed, I think he enjoyed the day and his very first birthday party.

Da sweetest

The lives of all people Grohs are just as crazy as ever and blogging is getting increasingly difficult for Mommy.  But I am determined to keep the goings-on and mutterings of these kids in writing, so you'll find more happy times pictured.  I would like to find a way to link my Facebook postings to my blogging, as I think the weekly postings illustrate the days and times of us the best.

As Elena wrapped up her Kindgergarten year and Michael turned three (post of this to follow), I'll say it again...time is not on our side.  These fantastic kids grow so quickly.

A few lovely memories include a lot of Michael:

1) Our nightly routines - Michael asking every night "Can I go in yo' bed?" and I say, "After...." to which he chimes in, "I go in my bed."
2) Michael seeing his newborn self pictures and commenting that he was covered in ketchup.
3) Michael's caring three-year old self always calling me, "Da sweetest Mommy."
4) Or Elena's love of the English language... "I 'miss-ded' you, Mom."
and 5) Elena commenting that she wants to be exactly like Mom.  And Dad when she grows up.

Thank you God.

Happy times

May was a nutty month with lots of firsts.  Michael is potty training as we speak and Elena was deemed 'the reader' of her class.  She is so darn good at it, it's ridiculous.  I vow to post a video of her doing it...what an experience for all of us!  Mommy had her first trip away this month on the esteemed Capitol-to-Capitol (Cap to Cap) trip to Washington, D.C.  With six days gone, I was a bit of a mess, but Daddy took the kids to see Grandma and Grandpa Grohs in Bend, OR for five of those days and we all survived and enjoyed the time. I think we'll stay close to home for awhile now though.  We enjoy our days and
A watermelon eating contest is what we do best.

Big guy in big shoes.

So, it's been a long day for our buddy.

I feel like she's quite the artist.

DC was very serious business sometimes.
