Easily entertained

Michael seems to be all boy and enjoys (eh hem) good, clean fun just like the next guy. His nine-month appointment was just this week and believe it our not, he seems to be slowing down on the climb up the growth chart. He weighed in at 22 lbs., 11 oz. (85th percentile), measured 30 inches (95th percentile) and still has an 18" noggin (90th percentile). He loves a good game of peek-a-boo, his bathtime and just about every food, especially broccoli and pears.
He is doing 'everything on time' and the fact that he isn't crawling yet is apparently, very typical. Why WOULD he crawl? He seems to have all he needs right at his fingertips. :)

Best of friends

Our little buddies are the best of friends with Michael looking at his sister with the most admiring eyes you've ever seen and Elena who gives her brother all the love a big sister could give. Love these kids.

Rock and Roll

With Daddy gone on his biking weekend, we have stacked the days with things to do and people to see. Luckily, we didn't have far to look with birthday parties, dinners with friends and our weekly gymnastics fun. Elena and Michael attended a neighborhood "Rock Star" birthday party today and dressed the parts with La as Madonna and Michael as a Run DMC-meets-Eminem type character in his cool guy sweatsuit. The winds sent Michael and me home early to nap and blog, respectively. Elena should arrive home with the neighbors anytime. When I left, she had pink and green hair, so I'm hoping she doesn't come home with any sort of permanent tattoos. Not until she's at least five.

We are doing well and have heard from Daddy several times. He is having a lot of very muddy fun with this boys (it poured rain yesterday, so muddy mountain biking and camping became muddy mountain biking and a Travelodge) and we couldn't be happier that he's enjoying himself and that we didn't need to do anything like it. They will re-try camping tonight and should come back home to us tomorrow night. I assume he'll be very tired and worse for the wear, but happy to have had the trip and be home again. So until then, we're home a rockin' and he's out a rollin'.
